About the Book

This is Book One of The Maker’s Path—a 16-book, faith-filled sci-fi adventure series, with each installment inspired by a theme drawn from a chapter of Romans.

For 11-year-old Jax Orion, stepping aboard the starship Promise is supposed to be the beginning of an unforgettable youth training voyage. Instead, strange malfunctions ripple through the ship, systems glitch at the worst moments, and a mission meant to build confidence suddenly feels far more dangerous than anyone expected.

As Jax and a small circle of new friends uncover clues buried deep within the ship’s design, they realize that nothing about this mission is random. Someone—or something—has placed them here for a purpose they don’t yet understand.

Guided by bits of wisdom from the Maker, Jax begins to wrestle with questions bigger than himself: Why was he chosen for this mission? What does it mean to be shaped for a purpose? And can the Maker’s mercy reach you even when you feel unworthy?
